Hey Supporter, are you stuck driving alone every day? Or are you able to use other commute modes? Have you tried?

May is a great opportunity to try, as part of  the Commuter Challenge!

The “challenge” is for single passenger drivers to try a new mode of travel to work  (carpool, bus, vanpool, bike, walk, or work from home) in May.

Great prizes are also available for participants, as well as cost savings, physical fitness, and improving air quality!

Come out to the Commuter Challenge Kick-Off this Friday, April 21, between 11am and 2pm to Cadillac Square (next to Campus Martius) in downtown Detroit to learn all about the Challenge and commute options plus get free Detroit Water Ice, giveaways, raffles and more!

Through alternative commuting, everyone can breathe a little easier. This year's Commuter Challenge starts on May 1 and runs through the entire month of May.

When commuters log their trips on the Commuter Challenge website, they will receive one point for each day. More points equal more chances to win great prizes, including an iPAD, Tigers tickets, Marriot hotel stay, Visa and Amazon gift cards, dinner at Andiamo, and more! Participants who sign up before May 1 have a chance of winning a $50 Amazon gift card!

May opportunities

  • May 5 - Southeast Michigan will be competing against Lansing and Grand Rapids for the most commuter participation on Casual Commute Day. Commuters who sign up will be eligible for great prizes.
  • May 19 - On Bike to Work Day,  an annual event that encourages commuting to work by bicycle.
  • Every day this May is an opportunity for participants to log their roundtrip commute (one per day) at the Commuter Challenge website and submit entries into the big prize drawing. The more days you log a commute, the more chances you have to win!

Thanks,
Megan
