I'm the Chair of TRU's Board Development Committee, writing to make sure you're aware of the openings of TRU's Board of Directors.
As you know, TRU is southeast Michigan’s premier advocate for public transportation in the Detroit region. As such, TRU is seeking energetic and talented individuals to serve on our Board of Directors. TRU’s Board sets the organization’s strategic priorities, mission and values, and funding. At the same time, TRU board members are key voices for the transit community to the broader region.
TRU is a growing & diverse group. As we strive to create a more connected region, we are seeking those who are interested in challenging both the organization and themselves to accomplish this exciting work. We seek those in Detroit, Wayne, Macomb, Washtenaw, and Oakland Counties.
TRU board members are people with strong connections to the region and broader community. Many are transit riders, both transit dependent and riders of choice. They are engaged and engaging, with broad talents to provide fundraising talents, financial oversight, and organizational development skills.
If you think that you can challenge yourself with this opportunity, take a look at our Guide for Prospective Boardmembers and contact TRU for additional information. Applications (available in doc or pdf) are being accepted through December 15, 2016.
