Quick reminder, Supporter: The RTA’s proposed Regional Transit Master Plan will be released tomorrow!
You’re invited to attend the launch of the plan:
When: Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 31, at 10am
Where: Lawrence Technological University's University Gallery, Room T-210,
21000 West 10 Mile Road, Southfield, MI 48075
Note: While an RSVP is encouraged, the event is free and open to everyone, regardless of whether you RSVPd.
What: This will be the first opportunity for the public to review the RTA’s plan for how to improve and expand transit throughout all of Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Wayne Counties, including Detroit.
The event will begin with a presentation by the RTA’s Board Chair and staff detailing the plan. Immediately following, the RTA will host an Open House until 1pm to answer questions and take comments and suggestions on the plan.
Whether or not you attend the launch event, you can review the proposed plan on the RTA website. Tomorrow, they will be posting the full detailed plan, an Executive Summary, county-specific factsheets, a regional transit map, a video overview, a Facebook opinion survey, and more.
Follow along and join the discussion! I will be live-tweeting the launch event on behalf of TRU (@DetroitTransit). Please send me your thoughts and suggestions, either on Facebook @SupportDetroitTransit, on Twitter, or via email.
I'll send you TRU's analysis of the plan within the week, including the highlights, benefits, and limitations as well as opportunities for you to weigh in. Stay tuned.
Hope to see you at the launch or chat with you on social media!
