Today is #GivingTuesday and all across the country, people are giving to the charities, issues, and causes that matter most to them.
I urge you, Supporter, to include TRU in your giving, because transit is a vital lifeline for so many people in our community.
Transit is a medical lifeline for Beth, who uses transit to get to the weekly medical treatments she needs to preserve her eyesight.
Transit is a work lifeline for Renard who has no other way to get to the job he needs.
Transit was a literal lifeline for Debbie who used public transit to escape domestic violence and reach safety and shelter.
Transit provides a critical lifeline for these three and thousands more like them. Yet as you well know, our region's public transit system fails far more people and desparately needs improved! That's why TRU is here.
With your help, TRU will expand our fight for more and better transit throughout our region, so there will be essential transit options for the tens of thousands of people like Beth, Renard, and Debbie!
Please take a few minutes today to think about the people who depend on transit for their lives and livelihoods.
If you have the means to give back, please give to TRU today!
Together we’ll create a quality regional transit system that every person in southeast Michigan can depend on!
PS - Transportation Riders United is Detroit's nonprofit transit advocate, working since 1999 to improve bus service, remove barriers to rapid transit, and advocate for smart transportation investments.
PPS - I realize that fundraising emails aren't much fun, but financial support is essential for all the other education, engagement and advocacy TRU does. I promise to keep them to a minimum!
